Program Information

Summit View Youth Center (SVYC) is a maximum-security youth facility with a capacity of 48 beds. The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) provides programming and services to youth between the ages of 12 to 18, SVYC focuses on High School aged males between 14 and 19. SVYC sits on 13 acres in North Las Vegas near Nellis Air Force Base.


Summit View opened on February 26, 2016 under the supervision of DCFS. This facility, in cooperation with the Clark County School District, operates educational programs offering both required and elective academic subjects, remedial programs, special education programs, vocational programs, and interscholastic activities. SVYC has nursing staff, mental health counselors, psychiatric case workers, contracted physicians, a contracted psychiatrist, and a contracted dentist to provide comprehensive on-site medical and mental health services. In addition, SVYC provides recreational programming, drug and alcohol use counseling, recovery programming, group and individual counseling, sexual offender treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and treatment planning.
