The youth at Caliente Youth Center (CYC) are provided with proper and convenient medical care by an experienced and talented on-site nursing staff as well as contracted services from a dedicated and accomplished local physician.
A team of maintenance professionals keep the facilities and grounds of CYC in beautiful condition. Due to the nature of the weather in Caliente, the maintenance staff is prepared to deal with hot summer days and cold winter nights.
The kitchen is run by a team of experienced culinary professionals providing three excellent and diverse meals a day to the youth at CYC. The facility participates in the
National School Lunch Program
through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). "The USDA prohibits discrimination against its customers, employees, and applicants for employment on the bases of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, reprisal and, where applicable, political beliefs, marital status, familial or parental status, sexual orientation, or all or part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program, or protected genetic information in employment or in any program or activity conducted or funded by the Department. (Not all prohibited bases will apply to all programs and/or employment activities.)"
The laundry staff runs continuous cycles to provide all youth with clean clothes, bedding and towels.
In order to keep all of CYC's services running smoothly, a true team effort is required and executed on a daily basis.
