AGENCY & COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Leadership and Administrative Support

The Nevada Youth Training Center (NYTC) receives strong leadership and administrative support from the Division of Child and Family Service (DCFS) representatives from corresponding departments based on activity and function.

Collaboration

There exists an intense collaboration with the Nevada Youth Parole Bureau  to address specific clients' needs during their stay at NYTC, as well as, in aftercare planning.  Elko County and the City of Elko also play an important role in serving as the home base for the youth center.

NYTC Partners with the Children's Cabinet

NYTC also partners with the Children's Cabinet to connect youths with opportunities to obtain vocational training, educational assistance, and transitional programming and re-entry services for qualified NYTC students.

Opportunities to be part of Various Work Crews

While at NYTC, youth have the opportunity to be part of the various works crew throughout the city of Elko as well as with the State of Nevada State Parks Work Crew. Youth also have an opportunity to give back to their community through community service.  The Work Crew is an earned privilege for those that have a desire to work hard, establish a work ethic, learn valuable skills and improve their lives. Cottages regularly participate in community service projects to build character, help groups and individuals, and learn new skills.
